First Financial Corp. said Chief Financial Officer Rodger A. McHargue will retire effective Dec. 31, 2026, ending a tenure that began in 2010. Paul D. Nungester, currently senior vice president and director of finance, will take over as CFO on Jan. 1, 2027.
McHargue has held the finance post for 16 years. In that period, the company said First Financial achieved “meaningful growth,” strengthened its financial foundation, and expanded in new and existing markets.
Nungester is bringing nearly 30 years of financial and leadership experience into the role. First Financial operates 87 banking centers across Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee.
