Okta appoints Helen Riley to board

Okta added Helen Riley to its board of directors effective Sept. 18, 2026, and said Emilie Choi stepped down from the board on Sept. 14.

Riley is chief financial officer and chief operating officer at X, the Moonshot Factory, Alphabet’s research and development unit. She joined X in 2015 as vice president and chief financial officer, then took on her expanded role in 2023.

Her background at Alphabet spans more than two decades. At Google, she served as senior finance director of global marketing from 2013 to 2015 and as finance director of global G&A from 2011 to 2013.

Riley has also served on the boards of Eventbrite from July 2018 to April 2026 and Marqeta from May 2020 to June 2025.
