Trilogy Metals Progresses Arctic Project Review

Trilogy Metals said the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has published a notice of intent to prepare an environmental impact statement for its Arctic copper-zinc-lead-gold-silver project in northwestern Alaska, formally starting the federal NEPA review and public scoping phase.

The company said the notice of intent was the first key federal milestone on the permitting schedule published in July 2026. Trilogy said the process remains on track for a draft environmental impact statement in October 2027 and a record of decision in September 2028, with overall completion targeted for November 2028.

Trilogy said the Army Corps received Ambler Metals’ Clean Water Act Section 404 permit application on April 20, 2026. The company said the integrated federal and state review is expected to take 29 months, a timetable it described as ahead of the historical baseline for comparable reviews.

The Arctic project is held through Ambler Metals, Trilogy’s 50/50 joint venture with South32. As a result of these announcements, the company's shares have moved 2.3% on the market, and are now trading at a price of $3.335. Check out the company's full 8-K submission here.
