Upbound Group Appoints New COO and SVP to Strengthen Operations

Upbound Group named Scott Young chief operating officer and Dev Chakraborty senior vice president and head of Brigit, adding two executives as it tries to tighten operations across Acima, Brigit and Rent-A-Center.

Young, who most recently led financial solutions for PayPal and Venmo, will oversee strategic alignment and execution across the three businesses. Chakraborty, previously general manager of cards, mortgages and data partnerships at MoneyLion, takes over Brigit after helping grow Credit Karma’s personal loans business to about $700 million in annual revenue.

The company said the new COO role is designed to unify its business segments under one leader and drive cross-brand growth and revenue synergies.

Brigit’s scale was highlighted in the announcement: the business has reached about $300 million in annual recurring revenue and 1.8 million paying users. That compares with Chakraborty’s prior Credit Karma role, where he helped build a business more than twice Brigit’s current annual recurring revenue.

Upbound also pointed to its broader operating footprint, citing more than 2,300 company-branded retail units across the United States, Mexico and Puerto Rico. As a result of these announcements, the company's shares have moved 2.01% on the market, and are now trading at a price of $17.23.
