Houlihan Lokey Appoints Prabha Sipi Bhandari as Chief Legal Officer

Houlihan Lokey named Prabha Sipi Bhandari as chief legal officer, replacing Christopher Crain after a 22-year run as the firm’s general counsel since 2004.

Bhandari comes from Paychex, where she served as chief legal officer, chief ethics officer, and secretary. Before that, she held senior legal roles at AIG, Freddie Mac, Viacom, and spent 13 years at Deutsche Bank, including as managing director, general counsel for Deutsche Bank Securities, and global head of mergers and acquisitions legal.

At Houlihan Lokey, Bhandari will oversee all global legal and compliance activities and serve as corporate secretary to the board. She will also join as an executive officer.

Crain is moving into the role of corporate senior advisor, where he will help manage the transition of the legal and compliance department before advising senior management on non-legal matters.

Bhandari earned her bachelor’s degree from Cornell and her law degree from New York University School of Law. The market has reacted to these announcements by moving the company's shares -0.03% to a price of $130.925. For more information, read the company's full 8-K submission here.
