Archer Aviation said the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act expired at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sept. 18, clearing one of the key hurdles in its planned acquisition of Boeing’s Wisk Aero, SkyGrid and Insitu subsidiaries.
The company said the expiration of the waiting period satisfies a major condition to close the deal, although the transaction still depends on other customary closing conditions, including additional regulatory approvals that are already underway.
Archer said it expects the acquisition to close by the end of 2026.
The deal would combine Wisk’s autonomous eVTOL aircraft work, Insitu’s unmanned aircraft systems and SkyGrid’s airspace intelligence technology with Archer’s aircraft platform and its AI foundation model, Zee. Archer described the combined business as an end-to-end physical AI platform for aerospace and defense. The market has reacted to these announcements by moving the company's shares 0.35% to a price of $5.71. If you want to know more, read the company's complete 8-K report here.
