NEWS CORP (NWSA) Spends $493.68M on Buyback Program

News Corp said it bought back 62,323 shares on Sept. 23 for US$1.78 million, bringing the total repurchased under its 2025 buyback program to about US$493.68 million.

The company’s daily filing showed that the prior day’s purchases were far larger: 12.30 million shares for US$321.67 million. Combined, the two days accounted for 12.36 million shares and US$323.44 million in consideration.

News Corp’s 2025 repurchase program authorizes up to US$1 billion of its Nasdaq-listed Class A and Class B common stock. With roughly US$493.68 million already spent, about US$506.32 million remains available under the program.

The filing said the shares were bought in US dollars, with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC acting as broker. It also noted the company has not set a fixed price for the repurchases.
