Cencora Appoints Robert E. Sanchez to Board

Cencora has added Robert E. Sanchez to its board of directors, effective Oct. 1, 2026.

Sanchez is the executive chair of Ryder System, where he served as chair and chief executive officer until his retirement in March 2026. He ran Ryder as CEO from 2013 to 2026 after spending about two decades there in senior roles including president and chief operating officer, president of global fleet management solutions, and executive vice president and chief financial officer.

The appointment brings a director with experience in logistics, supply chains, finance and operations to Cencora’s board as the company continues its pharmaceutical-focused strategy.

Cencora said Sanchez also serves on the board of Texas Instruments and is a trustee of the University of Miami. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami.

Cencora said it has more than $300 billion in annual revenue and ranks No. 10 on the Fortune 500 and No. 16 on the Global Fortune 500.
