KeyCorp reported second-quarter 2026 diluted earnings per share of $0.44, unchanged from the first quarter, while first-half 2026 diluted EPS reached $0.88, up 28% from the first half of 2025.
Revenue for the second quarter was $1.964 billion, up from $1.953 billion in the first quarter. Net interest income rose to $1.258 billion from $1.230 billion, while noninterest income slipped to $706 million from $723 million. Noninterest expense increased to $1.217 billion from $1.181 billion. Provision for credit losses fell to $92 million from $106 million.
For the first half, revenue totaled $3.917 billion, up 8% from the same period a year earlier. Net interest income climbed 10% to $2.488 billion, and noninterest income increased 5% to $1.429 billion. Noninterest expense rose 5% to $2.398 billion. Provision for credit losses dropped 23% to $198 million.
Profitability metrics moved as well: return on assets was 1.08% in the second quarter versus 1.14% in the first quarter, while return on tangible common equity was 12.9% versus 13.0%. The cash efficiency ratio worsened to 61.9% from 60.4%.
On the balance sheet and business front, period-end C&I loans grew 3% sequentially in the second quarter, and assets under management reached a record $74 billion. Relationship households increased 3% year over year. The company reported a 9.8% common equity tier 1 ratio and a 42-basis-point net charge-off ratio to average loans.
