Quantum Corp. said James C. Clancy has been named chief operating officer, moving him off the board after roughly a year as a director and putting him in charge of execution tied to operations, revenue growth, customer success and transformation efforts.
Clancy has held senior roles at Dell, Dell EMC and EMC, including president of global storage sales at Dell and senior vice president of global sales for Dell EMC’s data protection business. Quantum said his experience spans global data protection, cyber recovery, enterprise storage and go-to-market leadership.
The company framed the move as part of a push to build on its current momentum and scale its storage business for customers handling large volumes of data. Clancy said he had seen the company’s technology, people, customer relationships and market position up close through board service and is now taking on a role focused on strengthening execution and accelerating growth.
