Pebblebrook Hotel Trust added Bill Bayless to its Board of Trustees effective Oct. 1, expanding the board to eight members, seven of them independent.
Bayless, the chief executive of Maslow Campus Communities, brings more than 35 years of real estate experience and nearly $30 billion in transactions. He co-founded American Campus Communities and helped grow it into the first publicly traded student housing company before its roughly $13 billion sale to Blackstone in 2022.
The appointment adds a veteran operator with capital markets experience to a board that now has eight trustees. Pebblebrook said it owns 43 hotels with about 10,900 guest rooms across 14 urban and resort markets.
