Frontier Holdings, LLC swung to a loss of $891,000 in the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2025, compared with net income of $2.93 million a year earlier, as noninterest expense nearly doubled and loan-loss provisioning stayed elevated.
Net interest income rose to $10.92 million from $9.20 million, up 18.8%, on total interest and dividend income of $21.23 million, versus $19.58 million a year ago. Interest expense edged down to $10.31 million from $10.38 million. The company set aside $60,000 for credit losses, down from $319,000 in the prior-year quarter.
Noninterest income increased to $690,000 from $605,000, helped by a $339,000 gain on loan sales, up from $263,000, and $351,000 of other income, up from $326,000. But noninterest expense jumped to $12.44 million from $6.55 million. Salaries and employee benefits climbed to $5.97 million from $4.02 million, while other noninterest expense surged to $5.65 million from $1.76 million.
On the balance sheet, total assets rose to $1.43 billion at Dec. 31, 2025 from $1.42 billion at Sept. 30, 2025. Loans increased to $1.29 billion from $1.28 billion, while securities slipped to $83.60 million from $84.26 million.
Deposits grew to $1.13 billion from $1.10 billion. Demand deposits climbed to $150.11 million from $94.64 million, while time deposits fell to $543.98 million from $558.92 million. Short-term borrowings were eliminated from $35.0 million at the prior quarter-end. Federal Home Loan Bank advances increased to $141.14 million from $135.28 million, and other borrowed funds rose to $22.49 million from $18.62 million.
Members’ equity declined to $116.92 million from $119.07 million, reflecting the quarterly loss and $1.9 million in distributions. Comprehensive loss narrowed to $247,000 from comprehensive income of $795,000 a year earlier, as unrealized gains on available-for-sale securities improved to $644,000 from a $2.13 million loss.
Cash and cash equivalents ended the quarter at $12.82 million, up from $11.02 million at Sept. 30, 2025. Operating cash flow was $4.18 million, down from $4.60 million a year earlier, while cash used in investing activities totaled $11.45 million versus $11.83 million.
