Tenable appoints former Microsoft and AWS exec to board

Tenable Holdings appointed Charlie Bell to its board of directors, adding a former Microsoft and AWS executive with nearly four decades of software engineering and operational leadership experience.

Bell spent more than 20 years at Amazon Web Services, where he helped build the company’s cloud infrastructure from its early stages into a multi-billion-dollar business. At AWS, he served as senior vice president overseeing core engineering, utility computing and operational teams responsible for cloud platforms used by millions of enterprises worldwide.

More recently, Bell was executive vice president of security, compliance, identity and management at Microsoft, where he led enterprise security strategy, product engineering and threat intelligence operations.

The board appointment comes as Tenable pushes further into AI-powered exposure management. The company said Bell’s background in cloud-scale product architecture and security engineering will support its efforts across AI, cloud, identity, OT and traditional IT environments.

Tenable said its platform protects more than 40,000 customers globally. The market has reacted to these announcements by moving the company's shares 4.5% to a price of $38.51. For the full picture, make sure to review Tenable's 8-K report.
