FormFactor and Teradyne Strike $300M Tech Collaboration Deal

FormFactor and Teradyne have struck a broad technology collaboration and equity deal aimed at speeding up next-generation semiconductor testing, with Teradyne agreeing to invest $300 million in FormFactor.

The companies said the partnership will combine FormFactor’s probe technologies, interface solutions, test engineering and device characterization with Teradyne’s automated test platforms. The goal is to improve development, validation and high-volume production of semiconductor devices used in high-performance compute, advanced packaging, high-bandwidth memory and silicon photonics.

The deal comes as semiconductor testing grows more complex. FormFactor said the collaboration is intended to help customers move more efficiently from technology development into high-volume manufacturing, while Teradyne said the effort is designed to create a more complete path to production for shared customers.

The companies said the collaboration is expected to expand joint customer engagement and support demand tied to AI infrastructure and advanced computing. Teradyne’s $300 million investment is part of the agreement. As a result of these announcements, the company's shares have moved -6.72% on the market, and are now trading at a price of $130.28.
