Mueller Water Products has named Michael Morgan as its next finance chief in a planned transition that will take effect in two stages this fall.
Morgan will join the company as executive vice president, finance on Oct. 28, 2026, and then move into the chief financial officer role on or about Nov. 19, 2026, after Mueller files its annual report for the fiscal year ended Sept. 30, 2026. Melissa Rasmussen will stay on as CFO through the annual report filing and then remain in an advisory role through Dec. 31, 2026.
The move ends Rasmussen’s run in the top finance job and brings in a successor with more than 30 years of experience in industrial and healthcare finance. Morgan is currently CFO of Indcor, where he oversees enterprise finance strategy, capital allocation and portfolio optimization. Before that, he spent 10 years at Labcorp, including roles as senior vice president of enterprise finance and CFO of both the biopharma laboratory services and diagnostics segments.
Morgan’s earlier career included finance, operational and commercial roles at Timken, where he served as vice president and group controller, and finance leadership and investor relations positions at PerkinElmer.
Mueller said Morgan’s background in financial strategy and operations will support its planning, forecasting and execution. The company said he will help advance the Mueller operating system and support profitable growth.
Rasmussen’s exit is not tied to any disagreement with the company over financial statements, controls, operations, policies or practices. The market has reacted to these announcements by moving the company's shares 0.92% to a price of $21.87. For more information, read the company's full 8-K submission here.
