Venture Global Expands Power Capacity with Agreements

Venture Global said it has entered into power and grid frame agreements with GE Vernova and Baker Hughes Energy Services to support up to 16 new 720-megawatt power island units, a buildout that would add as much as 11.52 gigawatts of new installed capacity if fully deployed.

The company said the new agreements extend its existing behind-the-meter power network and could create a pathway for up to 10 gigawatts of new compute capacity over time at sites it owns or controls. That would be layered on top of the 4.5 gigawatts of island-mode modular gas-fired generation Venture Global said it already has ordered, under construction, or operating across its LNG facilities.

Venture Global said it expects to place its first power island purchase order by the end of 2026. It also said any additional capacity would be built in stages, based on customer commitments and other commercial arrangements, with future orders coming through definitive reservation agreements or purchase orders.

The company said its current network includes 6 power islands across its LNG sites. With the newly contemplated 16 units, Venture Global said it sees the potential to expand both its LNG operations and a separate compute-capacity platform by the end of 2034.

Venture Global said the planned expansion would not rely on the public electric grid or public water utilities. It described the framework as supporting adjacent, behind-the-wall data centers and other infrastructure, while keeping its LNG business separate and unchanged. Today the company's shares have moved -4.12% to a price of $13.27. If you want to know more, read the company's complete 8-K report here.
