NioCorp Developments said it swung to a preliminary third-quarter profit of $3.7 million, or $0.03 a share, for the three months ended Sept. 30, 2026, from a net loss of $42.7 million, or $0.53 a share, a year earlier.
The company said the improvement was driven mainly by an $8.5 million non-cash gain tied to earnout shares and warrants classified as liabilities. In the comparable quarter of 2025, those same instruments produced a $32.1 million non-cash loss.
Cash on hand rose to $405.1 million at Sept. 30, 2026.
Operating cash outflows for the quarter were $6.1 million, reflecting recurring general and administrative costs and spending to finalize and issue the technical and economic study for the Elk Creek critical minerals project. Investing outflows were $5.9 million, mainly for additional construction work on the mine portal at Elk Creek. As a result of these announcements, the company's shares have moved 3.82% on the market, and are now trading at a price of $3.26. For more information, read the company's full 8-K submission here.
