NioCorp Developments reported a sharp swing back to profit in the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2026, posting net income attributable to the company of $3.7 million, or $0.03 a share, versus a net loss of $42.7 million, or $0.53 a share, in the same quarter a year earlier.
The turnaround was driven largely by non-cash gains of about $8.5 million tied to earnout shares and warrants classified as liabilities. In the third quarter of 2025, those same instruments produced non-cash losses of about $32.1 million.
Cash on the balance sheet rose to $405.1 million at Sept. 30, 2026.
Operating cash outflows for the quarter were $6.1 million, reflecting general and administrative costs and spending to finalize and issue the technical and economic study for the Elk Creek critical minerals project. Investing outflows totaled $5.9 million, mainly tied to additional construction work on the mine portal at Elk Creek. The market has reacted to these announcements by moving the company's shares 3.82% to a price of $3.26. If you want to know more, read the company's complete 8-K report here.
