Intuitive Machines added Dr. Christopher Scolese to its board of directors effective Oct. 22, 2026, while Michael Blitzer stepped down effective Oct. 21, 2026.
Scolese arrives after a six-year run as director of the National Reconnaissance Office from 2019 to 2026, where he oversaw the design, development, launch and operation of the nation’s intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance satellites. Before that, he held senior posts at NASA, including director of Goddard Space Flight Center from 2012 to 2019, as well as associate administrator, acting administrator and chief engineer.
The board change comes as the company continues to expand its space infrastructure business across commercial, civil and national security markets. Chairman Kam Ghaffarian said Blitzer had supported the company since its 2023 public listing and through later capital raises, strategic acquisitions and other milestones. Today the company's shares have moved 3.51% to a price of $10.91. Check out the company's full 8-K submission here.
