Home Depot said Chairman, President and CEO Ted Decker will take a temporary medical leave of absence and expects him back within the next few months.
During his absence, the company tapped two senior executives to run the business. Ann-Marie Campbell, senior executive vice president, will oversee day-to-day operations. Richard McPhail, executive vice president and CFO, will oversee financial management and the pro business. Greg Brenneman, the independent lead director, will chair the board while Decker is out.
The company said Campbell and McPhail have worked together for more than 20 years.
Home Depot ended the first quarter with 2,361 retail stores and more than 1,280 SRS locations across the U.S., Canada and Mexico. It said it employs more than 470,000 associates. As a result of these announcements, the company's shares have moved -3.13% on the market, and are now trading at a price of $343.40. Check out the company's full 8-K submission here.
