HOME DEPOT – Q2 2026 Sales Up 5.7%

Home Depot reported second-quarter fiscal 2026 sales of $47.9 billion, up $2.6 billion, or 5.7%, from $45.3 billion a year earlier.

Comparable sales increased 1.7% in the quarter, with U.S. comparable sales up 1.3%.

Net earnings rose to $4.8 billion from $4.6 billion in the same quarter last year. Diluted earnings per share increased to $4.79 from $4.58. Adjusted diluted earnings per share climbed to $4.92 from $4.68.

The company said results came in ahead of expectations, with management pointing to broad-based demand and smaller project activity.

For fiscal 2026, Home Depot reaffirmed its outlook. It is still targeting total sales growth of about 2.5% to 4.5%, comparable sales growth of roughly flat to 2.0%, and about 15 new stores. It also kept its gross margin outlook at about 33.1%, operating margin at 12.4% to 12.6%, and adjusted operating margin at 12.8% to 13.0%.

The company maintained its effective tax rate forecast at about 24.3% and net interest expense at roughly $2.3 billion. It also kept its diluted earnings-per-share growth outlook at approximately flat to 4.0% from $14.23 in fiscal 2025, and its adjusted diluted earnings-per-share growth outlook at approximately flat to 4.0% from $14.69.

At quarter-end, Home Depot operated 2,364 retail stores and more than 1,340 SRS locations across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Guam.
