Nutex Health said its previously disclosed cybersecurity event has escalated after the unauthorized third party published data it says was taken from the company’s network.
The company said it is now downloading and analyzing the data to determine its contents, scope and authenticity, a process it expects to take several weeks because of the volume involved.
Nutex said it still has not identified any material impact on business operations or financial reporting systems. Its assessment that the event is not material has not changed since the Aug. 31 filing.
The company said it continues to evaluate regulatory and legal notification requirements and plans to notify impacted patients and employees as required.
Since the initial disclosure, several proposed class action lawsuits have been filed in federal court in Houston. The complaints cover a putative class of individuals whose personally identifiable information and/or protected health information was allegedly accessed or acquired in the incident.
Nutex said it cannot yet estimate the effect of the incident on its business strategy, operations, financial condition, results of operations or stock price.
The company operates 28 hospital facilities in 12 states and said it has three business divisions: hospital operations, population health management and real estate. As a result of these announcements, the company's shares have moved 0.87% on the market, and are now trading at a price of $196.89. For more information, read the company's full 8-K submission here.
