RB Global Inc. Doubles Share Repurchase Program

RB Global has doubled the size of its share repurchase program, lifting the authorization from $500 million to $1 billion.

The Toronto Stock Exchange approved an amendment that raises the maximum buyback capacity to the lesser of 14,224,129 common shares, or an aggregate value of US$1 billion. That share cap represents about 10% of the company’s public float as of March 6, 2026, up from the original limit of 10,000,000 shares, or about 7% of the float.

The company said the original normal course issuer bid began on March 18, 2026. As of September 11, 2026, RB Global had already repurchased 5,363,497 shares at an average price of about US$93.22 each. That means it has completed about 53.6% of the original 10 million-share authorization and about 37.7% of the newly expanded 14.2 million-share limit.

Based on the September 11 pace, RB Global had spent roughly US$500.1 million on the buyback, essentially exhausting the original dollar authorization. The new limit gives it an additional US$500 million of capacity.

The company’s repurchase ceiling on the TSX remains 75,349 shares per trading day, equal to 25% of average daily trading volume for the six months ended February 28, 2026. RB Global had 185,924,928 shares outstanding and a public float of 142,241,292 shares as of March 6, 2026. All shares repurchased under the program will be canceled.

The amended program is set to take effect on September 17, 2026 and run until March 17, 2027, unless the company finishes the buyback earlier. The market has reacted to these announcements by moving the company's shares 1.81% to a price of $85.55. Check out the company's full 8-K submission here.
