Opal Fuels Appoints Kazi Hasan as CFO

Opal Fuels Inc. (NASDAQ: OPAL) has announced the appointment of Kazi Hasan as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective February 3, 2025. Mr. Hasan brings over 25 years of extensive financial, operational, and strategic leadership experience in the energy sector to the role.

Before joining Opal Fuels, Mr. Hasan served as a senior advisor at Fluence Energy (NASDAQ: FLNC) and held the positions of EVP and CFO at Puget Sound Energy and Cleco, energy utilities in Washington and Louisiana, respectively. Prior to these roles, he spent over two decades with publicly traded AES (NYSE: AES) in senior global and regional executive roles, including as the Global Chief Risk Officer.

Mr. Hasan's appointment comes as Opal Fuels continues to expand its platform and seek to maximize shareholder value amid the increasing demand for scalable, economical, and lower carbon energy solutions.

Opal Fuels is a leader in the capture and conversion of biogas into low carbon intensity RNG (Renewable Natural Gas) and renewable electricity. The company also specializes in the marketing and distribution of RNG to heavy-duty trucking and other hard-to-decarbonize industrial sectors.

The company's previous interim CFO, Scott Contino, will continue in his role as the CFO of Opal Fuels' sponsor, Fortistar.

This appointment follows Opal Fuels' filing of a Form 8-K with the Securities and Exchange Commission in conjunction with the press release. Today the company's shares have moved 1.0% to a price of $3.09. Check out the company's full 8-K submission here.
