D.R. Horton Appoints Three New Independent Directors

D.R. Horton, Inc. has announced the appointment of three new independent directors * Barbara R. Smith, M. Chad Crow, and Elaine D. Crowley. With these new appointments, the company's board now expands to ten directors, eight of whom are independent.

Barbara R. Smith, who has extensive experience in product, technology, and process innovation, has been named a member of the nominating and governance committee. She has served as the chairman of the board of Commercial Metals Company and is retiring on August 31, 2024. Smith also served as the CEO of Commercial Metals Company from 2017 to 2023 and has held various business roles with Alcoa Inc. She currently serves on the board of directors of Comerica Incorporated.

M. Chad Crow, with over two decades of homebuilding industry experience, was named a member of the compensation committee. He most recently served as the president and CEO of Builders FirstSource and currently serves on the board of directors of Loar Group.

Elaine D. Crowley, an accomplished financial executive, has been named a member of the audit committee. She recently served on the board of directors of Tandy Leather Factory, Inc. and has held various financial roles at companies such as Mattress Giant Corporation, Michaels Stores, Inc., and The Bombay Company, Inc.

D.R. Horton, Inc., "America’s Builder," has been the largest homebuilder by volume in the United States since 2002 and has closed more than 1,100,000 homes in its over 45-year history. During the twelve-month period ended June 30, 2024, the company closed 88,971 homes in its homebuilding operations, in addition to 5,284 single-family rental homes and 2,916 multi-family rental units in its rental operations.
