Priority Technology Holdings said Aug. 26 that it has agreed to buy IntelliPay, a move that will push its payments business deeper into the public sector.
The company said the deal will create Priority Commerce Government, an expansion of its enterprise payments unit focused on government agencies, educational institutions and healthcare organizations. Priority said the new unit is expected to add just over $4 million of incremental revenue for the remainder of 2026.
IntelliPay’s software is used to accept and manage payments across online, mobile, in-person and recurring channels, with card and ACH processing built in. The company has been serving state and local municipalities with billing and payment acceptance needs.
Priority said the acquisition is part of a strategy to build out key verticals by buying partners already in its ecosystem. The company described IntelliPay as a longstanding partner and said the combination will extend its treasury and payments tools into public-sector finance operations.
The press release did not disclose the purchase price or other financial terms. As a result of these announcements, the company's shares have moved -1.07% on the market, and are now trading at a price of $5.56. Check out the company's full 8-K submission here.
