Willis Lease Finance Corp Expands Portfolio by Acquiring 25 Assets

Willis Lease Finance Corp. said it has closed a deal to acquire 12 commercial aircraft and 13 aircraft engines, adding 25 assets to its portfolio.

The company did not disclose the purchase price or the prior size of its aircraft and engine holdings in the release, but the transaction immediately expands its aviation asset base by 12 aircraft and 13 engines.

Willis Lease said the assets will be deployed through its leasing, asset management, technical and aftermarket businesses, with the goal of increasing utilization and value over the assets’ lifecycles. The company also said the acquisition fits its existing aircraft and engine leasing business and supports its focus on “disciplined growth.”

The deal follows a business model built around leasing spare commercial aircraft engines and aircraft to airlines, engine manufacturers and maintenance providers, alongside trading, engine lease pools and asset management. The market has reacted to these announcements by moving the company's shares -0.64% to a price of $54.80. Check out the company's full 8-K submission here.
