Daktronics reported fiscal first-quarter sales of $234.6 million, up 7.1% from $219.0 million a year earlier, even with one fewer week in the period.
Operating income rose to $24.9 million from $23.3 million, lifting operating margin to 10.6%. Diluted earnings per share increased 21.2% to $0.40 from $0.33, the company’s highest quarterly diluted EPS in 12 quarters.
Operating cash flow climbed to $31.4 million from $26.1 million in the prior-year quarter. The company ended the period with $154.6 million in cash after $4.4 million of share repurchases.
New orders for products and services totaled $191.8 million, down from $238.5 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2026. Product backlog was $311.3 million, down from $360.3 million a year earlier, but still above $300 million for the sixth straight quarter.
The company said the quarter reflected a 13-week reporting period versus 14 weeks in the prior-year first quarter.
