Evergy Names W. Bryan Buckler CFO

Evergy, Inc. (NASDAQ: EVRG) has announced the appointment of W. Bryan Buckler as its new Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective October 1, 2024. Buckler, who previously served as the Chief Financial Officer at OGE Energy Corp., will be responsible for Evergy's corporate finance functions, including treasury, accounting, planning, tax, internal audit, capital allocation, and investor relations.

Buckler, 51, brings a wealth of experience from his previous role at OGE Energy Corp., where he was responsible for treasury, investor relations, financial planning and analysis, internal audit, and controller functions. Prior to his time at OGE, Buckler spent over 14 years at Duke Energy Corporation, serving in various finance leadership roles, with his most recent position being Vice President of Investor Relations. He began his career at Ernst & Young LLP, where he worked for 11 years.

David Campbell, Evergy's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, expressed his excitement about Buckler joining the team, citing his strong track record as a Chief Financial Officer and the breadth of experience he brings from his previous roles.

Geoff Ley, who has been serving as Evergy's acting Chief Financial Officer, will continue in his role until September 30, 2024, after which he will transition the Chief Financial Officer role and retain his position as Treasurer and Vice President of Corporate Planning.
