Dynatrace Appoints Google VP to Board

Dynatrace appointed Chandu Thota to its board of directors, effective July 27, 2026, adding a technology executive with more than 20 years of experience across AI, cloud infrastructure and enterprise software.

Thota is currently vice president of engineering at Google Workspace, where he leads a global engineering organization serving more than 4 billion users and millions of enterprise customers. His 15-year tenure at Alphabet has included leadership roles as vice president of the product unit/applied AI group at Google DeepMind, vice president of business platforms for Google Cloud and vice president of engineering for Google Maps.

The board appointment comes as Dynatrace continues to position itself around AI-powered observability. The company said Thota’s background in AI product innovation and applied research will support its strategy at the intersection of observability and AI.

Thota has also held key engineering roles at Microsoft and was founder and CTO of a startup later acquired by Google. He holds numerous patents in mobile, web, local search and mapping technologies, and has authored two technical books. As a result of these announcements, the company's shares have moved 0.46% on the market, and are now trading at a price of $44.10. For more information, read the company's full 8-K submission here.
